Are we able to date filter all the reports on the admin website and have them published on the public website? The issue we have is all our reports on the public website are showing incorrect info as it includes double ups, we have all the match reports entered after 2004 but pre 2004 they are only spasmodic, and we have historical data covering the pre 2004 period. On the admin website I can filter the data by excluding pre 2004 data which will then exclude any double ups from matches entered before 2004 and the historical data – how do I do this with the public website?

Hi Joel. The short answer to your question is that you can't select specific date ranges on the public site.
Can you give me some more specifics on where these double ups are coming from? The answer might be that you want to remove historical data where you have entered the matches pre-2004. Historical data entries should only be for when you don't have matches entered. Let me know.
The double ups are deliberate. As we have only entered random games between 1989 and 2004 we use the historical data to cover all those games, when we get a chance we continue to add in these older games. I just use the date filters in the admin version to remove those games when running all our reports.
For the public site it looks like we have 2 choices –
1. Remove all the pre 2004 games from the database until we have all those games entered, so the historical data in the current database will be correct and then when all the games have been entered, remove the historical data. Question though – can the random pre 2004 games be stored in a separate database and then merged with the main database when all games have been entered?
2. Don’t give anyone access to the public website until all games pre 2004 have been entered and just continue to use the admin website with date filters to remove pre 2004 games when running all reports.
cheers
Did you have an update to this reply?
cheers
@Joel Norman Hi Joel, you are correct with your two choices. There is no way to merge games from different databases unfortunately.
Another question - can you import matches from the old Version 11 database into the online version?
As i could keep updating the old database with matches and then import them all at once...
This is feasible but has some danger associated with it. Firstly, v11 is unsupported so if things go bad then you are on your own with it. Next, if you don't have names matching perfectly then it will create duplicates when publishing from v11. Finally, the v11 publish function won't work forever.
My recommendation is to remove the historical data from the online system and just let people know that new data will be coming over time as you add the old matches. Prioritise the most recent matches and work backwards in time.
@Mark @CricketStatz What you are saying all makes sense but unfortunately i need the historical data to run our end of season career stats accurately. As you stated it would have been better if we had entered the old matches year by year going backwards but once again i did have someone enter all of our matches for one particular team going back every year...so i don't really want to delete all that data to help my current situation.
Thanks but it looks like i will just have to fumble our way thru and not give anyone access to the online database until all the matches have been entered and it is accurate..which going on the current rate of match entry could be a few years away..
