Since adding all match id - new playhq match id it has created new players.
Our stats now have two for the 1 player under different names.
Our historical which shows all but this season 22/23 and new player for this season only.
I have tried adding the new player name to their existing player name using alias's but that didnt work.
Any ideas?
Screen shot of what it looks like.....
This season Jeff Domeika

Historical - we would like to combine the two.

Any ideas Mark?
Thanks
I will start by explaining how to avoid this in the future and the let you know what you need to do to fix the current duplicates.
Why does this happen?
Importing from PlayHQ will look for a player with either the exact same first and last name or try and match their PlayHQID. Player aliases don't do anything with a PlayHQ match import.
If Cricket Statz can't match the name exactly (or match the PlayHQID) then, during the import, you will be presented with the choice to do a Quick Add or add the PlayHQID to an existing player record. If the player already exists in your database and you choose Quick Add then it will create a duplicate player record. If you know that the player is already in your database (or strongly suspect it) then you need to be adding the PlayHQID to their player record so that they will be matched in future.
Bottom line - don't hit Quick Add unless you are certain that the player is not in your Cricket Statz database. Opt for Add PlayHQID first.
The duplicate fix
To fix player duplicates you need to:
1. Use the Merge Players function in the setup menu. This will merge the duplicate players into one record. Just be really careful with this function since it will delete one of the player records.
2. Go and add the PlayHQID to the remaining player record so that you don't create more duplicates in the future (or do it during the next match import)
Hope that helps.
