Email alerts are now available for record achievements. Emails will be sent when a player has beaten a previous top score to let you know that this has happened.
You must opt-in to receive these alerts. This can be done by ticking the "Send Alerts" check box in your user account (setup/users/details):
Pro tip: Make sure "Unsubscribed" isn't ticked for these to work.
Alerts will be sent to your email address whenever someone views a report and the top entry in that report has changed from when it was last run. It only triggers on reports where no filters have been applied. It will trigger on both database-wide reports and where a specific club has been chosen.
It has been enabled only for these specific reports:
Most Matches
Most Runs
Highest Run Scores
Most Wickets
Most Wickets in Innings/Match
Best Partnerships
Partnerships by Wicket (for each wicket)
The reports need to be viewed at least once so that the system establishes a baseline. After that time, any new #1 entry on subsequent views will trigger the email alert.
While I recognise that needing someone to view the report for the alert to trigger is not ideal, but the shear slowness it would add if all combinations of these reports were needed to be run each time a match was saved would make the match-entry experience unbearably poor.
The solution is to make sure all of your players know where to find the stats reports and encourage them to be looking at them regularly!
