The data in the ’5 wicket batting collapses’ report is correctly showing all instances of 5 wicket collapses, but when there is more than one instance of that happening for the same number of runs in the same innings can the results be de-duplicated so that only one instance is shown as it looks odd as it currently stands?
If we take the example below where my club lost 7 wickets for 0 runs, the table correctly shows three instances of 5 wickets being lost for 0 runs as we did lose 5 wickets for 0 runs on three occasions within that innings, but I think it would be better to only show this in the table once as it looks odd when it is repeated 3 times.
Just be aware that if this is done then you won't be able to tell if the match actually has more than 5 ducks in a row. So that match in your example above will look just like any other 5/0 match when, in fact, it is a 7/0 match.
I am not sure this is a good thing.
I know what you are saying Mark, but if I was a new user looking at the data in the table I wouldn’t know that it was a 7/0 match without clicking on the scorecard link and looking at it. I would just assume that the match was repeated by mistake, which is what I actually thought had happened the first time I saw it. I only worked out why it was repeated 3 times when I looked at the scorecard and saw that it was a collapse of 7 wickets in total.
Let‘s see what everyone else thinks about it anyway.
I'd prefer to leave the report as is. This way if you see an entry twice or more on the list than it's also a 6 or 7 wicket collapse.
If Mark wants to create a separate 6 or 7 wicket collapse report that would even be better! 😉
