I was just wondering with the latest update to the FoW entry and retired parentships, has anything changed to the format of the Match scorecards?
As I was looking at couple of our old scorecards over the weekend and when a team had not used all their allotment of batsman (eg either they declared or they won the match) the FoW showed all wickets to the 10th wicket on the Match Scorecard. Eg if a team was 5 wkts down then it now shows FOW for also 6-0, 7-0, 8-0, 9-0, 10-0 which obviously looks pretty weird.
We use CS in single club mode so I don’t really need to show the opposition FoW’s as they don’t appear in any CS Stat reports that i'm aware of, but I like to put them in anyway along with the Opp players scores, as it puts more context to the match when looking at a Match scorecard. There is no issue with our own club FoW’s going to the 10th wicket (ie if we declared or finished the match only 5 wkts down) just with the Opposition.
You can remove these extra FoW’s by making the FOW blank which fixes this issue but I can’t recall if this was always the case or is it something new? I noticed this issue with heaps of my scorecards, so I’m not in a hurry to go fix them all if it is a new issue. And like I said I don’t think it affects any of the stats reports so its not high on my agenda if this has always been there and this is my issue.
Can you link up a match report where this is showing and I will see what I can do.
In short, yes, a couple of weeks back I allowed FOW's to be shown where the batter may not have been recorded (to allow for this very scenario where you entered some FOW scores but not the batter). However, it sounds like it could be a bit smarter with what is shown.
Try this one - the 2nd Inns of the Opp has FoW's for 9th and 10th wkts at 0 each but they were only 8 wkts down at the end of the match.
