The genesis of this suggestion is a match played yesterday in Leinster, where Phoenix collapsed to 19-6, before recovering to 231 all out thanks to a ton by the number nine, with North County being bowled out to lose by 117 runs.
But I realised there was little analysis I could do, and it got me thinking.
Ideally there would be a new "Analysis of falls of wicket in an innings" report.
Aside from all the normal filters, there would be a "minimum" filter for falls of wicket and runs, and a "maximum" filter for falls of wicket and runs.
In practice, it would display the following.
I could enter 6 in the "minimum" falls of wicket and 50 in the associated runs filter. The report would return all the instances of teams losing their first six wickets for 50 or less.
I could then optionally add 10 in the "maximum" falls of wicket and 200 in the associated runs filter. The report would then return all the instance of a side losing their first six wicket for 50 runs or less, but going on to be all out for 200 or more.
There may be a few details that need to be teased out there.

Hi Mark
No idea what is happening here.
On this report https://www2.cricketstatz.com/ss/runreport2.aspx?mode=39&club=4580&grade=0&ground=&mtype=&pool=Sen&sday=1&smonth=Jan&sYear=1800&eday=30&emonth=Dec&eYear=9999&finals=0&team=0&oppteam=0&round=&mininns=0&minmatches=0
The only filters selected are Pool ("Sen") and Club/League ("North County")
There are lots of players appearing in the report who havenever played for North County but are appearing with a number of matches played and nothing else. Examples on this report are Lorcan Tucker, Tim Townend, NC Taylor, Zac Scott, Neil Rock and many more,
The same thing is happening when other clubs are selected with many of the players being the same. I can't narrow it down more than that.

Like many people at the moment, I'm going through old scorecards and correcting the cards where player's retirements were not correctly entered.
Unfortunately for old scorecards, the amount of work required is quite laborious, as the options for entering the batter's name (in the retired section) are restricted to those that are listed in the current team.
This obviously works well for recent scorecard, but doesn't work for old cards where players are long retired. I have to find the player who retired, go into players, activate the player, go into teams, add the player into the correct team, then make the change to the scorecard, then remove the player from the correct team, and then deactivate the player.
Am I doing it correctly? Is there an easier way of doing things? For instance, should all partnership fields be limited to the batters that have been listed in the innings? (We can move this to Suggestions if this is the case)

Following on from this thread , I'm uploading a few thousand matches with umpires to the existing database, but need to make sure the match details in my new upload are identical to the existing matches, to avoid creating duplicates. I'm trying to find where the "Match type" for each match is listed. Apart from manually clicking into each match, am I right in thinking that the only report with this info is the "Match Draw" report? And this is limited to 400 matches?

Cricket Leinster are currently digitising our archives back to the start of the league in 1919. Scores and averages were meticulously kept, but I’d love to hear an opinion on a problem we have with many of the earlier matches. Once thing that was not recorded was the winning margin. So we know who won each match, but it is not always possible to work out who batted first. And this is further complicated by it being fairly common for the side batting second to continue batting when they passed the total of the side batting first. So a typical score could be Dublin University (200-6) beat Royal Hibernian Military School (85 ao). We had assumed that Dublin University won by 115 runs, but in fact it turns out that batted second, and batted on after passing the RHMS total. Has anyone experienced something similar before? And is there any convention for recording such results?

Am I right in thinking that the server only allows one match to be included on each API request? And that all subsequent iterations on that request would get a 500 error?

Hi Mark Thanks for adding the unknown wickets option.
The time difference stopped me replying last night. As far as I can see, the unknown wickets would have to be included in the wickets total? Here are a few scenarios: (This is the one I am using). I know the team score (eg 4/150), but have no details about those four wickets. The only way I can display the four wickets in the team total is by listing the batsmen as being dismissed - but I would prefer to use "Unknown" rather than "Bowled". Bu not including the wickets in the total, I can't use this approach A user is adding a scorecard, but the dismissal type for a player (or players) isn't known. But they still know the overall score, so would need these dismissals to be included in the team score The only way I can see that it may be useful to not include the "unknown" wickets (there may be more!) is if you don't know who was out or not out in a scorecard. So you had 11 scores, but no idea who was in or out. In that case, it would be wrong to add them all as wickets? But not sure how common that scenario would be?

Is there any minimum information needed when uploading a match by API? To begin with, I'm trying to upload the basic match details (without players and scores), and get the correct responses from the servers, but the Oops error message is being returned, so something is wrong somewhere! Thanks

Lockdown number three in Ireland, so looking as if I have an extra month or so to improve our archive!
I'm looking at importing 10000 matches covering the last 100 years. Currently we have the summary of each match - eg date, teams, competition, venue, number of innings and runs and wickets for each innings.
My only option for getting these matches into CricketStatz is to import the matches using the current Match Import procedure (which is great - no problems here).
But then in order to get the innings totals into CricketStatz, I have to add the innings total to the first "batsman" and then change each of the "How Outs" from dnb to bowled for each wicket. So that's approx 200000 items that need to be entered.
Would it be possible to add fields to the Import Fixtures facility that would also have an innings total and innings wickets on?

Just a minor problem The Batting Frequency How Out chart doesn't reflect the filters that are used. Example: 26 catches are shown on the chart (19 fielder and 7 keeper), when using Balbriggan club catches in the competition LHW Senior League Cup for 2020 https://www2.cricketstatz.com/ss/runreport2.aspx?mode=70&club=4554&grade=9321&ground=&mtype=&pool=&sday=1&smonth=Jan&sYear=2020&eday=23&emonth=Aug&eYear=2020&finals=0&team=0&oppteam=0&round=&mininns=0&minruns=0&fowpos=0&batpos=0 But only seven catches were actually taken (this report correct and confirmed with scorecards) https://www2.cricketstatz.com/ss/runreport2.aspx?mode=33&club=4554&grade=9321&ground=&mtype=&pool=&sday=1&smonth=Jan&sYear=2020&eday=23&emonth=Aug&eYear=2020&finals=0&team=0&oppteam=0&round=&minovers=0 It's possible I'm misunderstanding the chart though. Could it be both innings in the match?

With an enforced lay off for everyone in the northern hemisphere, I'm sure lots are looking at expanding their database. But I'm trying to confirm the various options for importing matches, before I work out what the best way forward is.
1. Via the set up - "Import Matches" option. Matches can be inputted from Play Cricket. MyCricket, Cricket Star and CricHQ
2. Importing an map file from Total Cricket Scorer 3. By submitting an old Cricket Statz v11 database that can create a separate Cricket Statz online database. (My understanding is that you cannot merge a v11 database with an existing online database?
But as far as I can tell, there is no way of importing the following to an existing database.
4. From an old v11 .csd file (as detailed above)
5. From old v11 .mpx files (ie on a match by match basis)
6. Text scorecards that exist on websites. On v11 there used to be a form of text import, but that doesn't exist any more?
Can it be confirmed that the only way to enter cards as detailed in 4, 5 and 6 is to manually enter each card?

In this match (https://www2.cricketstatz.com/ss/runreport2.aspx?club=4530&mode=100&match=213052) , the number 3 batsman retired - a pretty common occurrence. However, I think I'm right in saying that unlike in v11, there is no input online for when a batsman retires? But even then, the partnership report (https://www2.cricketstatz.com/ss/runreport2.aspx?mode=22&club=4530&grade=0&ground=&mtype=&pool=&sday=1&smonth=Jan&sYear=2019&eday=31&emonth=Dec&eYear=2019&finals=0&team=0&oppteam=0&round=&mininns=0&minruns=0&minovers=0&fowpos=0&batpos=0) is leading to a 212 unbeaten partnership for the 9th wicket between the retired batsman and the number 11.
Should we be doing something different?

Hi Mark
Are all scorecards that are published by scoring apps automatically given the "Approved" status in CricketStatz? (I seem to remember that TCS cards did that in the past, so I presume it is the case across all matches being published)
If that is the case, how to people manage when looking to check data? I would have thought it would have been easier to keep it as "Pending", but I have a feeling that CricketStatz doesn't do that for a reason!

Is there any way to make the list of players in the "Player Page report" dropdown, dependent on the filtered selected below? Currently the list is of thousands of players, and it makes it tricky getting the right one
